Hotel Genio

• What did you like most?
  The atmosphere around Piazza Navona is the best in Rome. If you want a beautiful ambiance, book this place. The rooftop restaurant is magical and isn't just for breakfast. It's open for people to sit until midnight. The staff were incredible, especially the man at the front desk. It is an older hotel, so expect a few eccentricities as in any classic older hotel, but that's why I wanted it. Classy old hotels are my thing, and this blew me away. Very carefully cleaned and as in all old hotels, thick walls make for silent nights, unless people are loud in the halls. But once in their rooms, you hear nothing. I wish I stayed there longer. Instead I moved to another hotel for the east Rome part of the journey. If I knew I'd like Genio so much I would have stayed there for the whole Rome journey.
• Was there anything you didn't like?
  I didn't realize all the drinks in the minibar weren't free and ended up paying a lot but that's my own silliness. I'm sure the staff mentioned that on checkin, I was just too tired to remember.

Best location ever.

  Location was amazing. The rooftop area was outstanding. There’s a taxi stop right next to it which is perfect for traveling far.
• Was there anything you didn't like?
  It’s a bit dated and the price is probably $100-$150 to high a night.
